poverty is when people cant get their basic needs like food,clothing etc.
Types of poverty
there are 4 types of poverty
- Absolute poverty : the worst type of poverty when people cant get anything and they cant live a lot.
- Relative poverty: is when people for example dont have the money to put their children in school/university or they cant buy presents for children at christmas.Even though they have access to government support for food, water, medicine and free housing, they are considered poor because the rest of the community have access have education.
- situational poverty:People can be poor because of some adversities like earthquakes, floods etc. people can help themselves by getting assistant from other people in this situation.
- the final type is Generational or Chronic Poverty:This is a more complicated type . It is when poverty is handed over to individuals and families from generations before them. In this type, there is usually no escape from it, as people are trapped in its causes and have no access to tools that will help them get out of it.
causes of poverty
there are many causes but i will write about the main causes
- not well income : If the national income is not very well among all communities in the country, there is a risk that poorer communities will end up poorer.
- gender discrimination:for example in many african countries girls/women are not allowed to work or be in school and this can cause poverty because half of the country hasn't got any education
- war:many countries need oil and for that reason they attack weaker countries that is rich with oil and they steal and destroy and this causes poverty to that country
- natural disasters:volcanos tsunamis earthquakes floods and many other natural disasters can cause serious problems/deaths/a lot of losses to the country.
where are the poor
the 80% of the poor is in africa,south asia and latin america.
they have been known to have large areas of poverty.
Countries in this region include Angola, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Somalia, Sudan and Zambia.
In these countries most of the people live in less than 1$ a day.
the effects of poverty
Hunger, Health and Deaths.
Absolute poverty results in extreme hunger, starvation and malnutrition. People (and children) become vulnerable to preventable diseases such as cholera, dysentery and tuberculosis, with no access to health services and medications. Death rates rise.

Relative poverty is better than the previous one, it may not cause starvation , but on the other hand they cant always eat healthy and it may cause weakness to them.

- no food,unhealthy water,no school
- as they drink unhealthy and have no education they wont have energy/skills to work
- low productivity
- they might get a little income or no income
- no self esteem,no personal control
reducing/solving the poverty
here are the best solutions of poverty
- education:quality education can really help people take knowledge,information and life skills.Building schools,training teaches.
- increase income rate:as they get good education , skills to work, they get better jobs and increase their income rate , but first they have to get quality education
- health,food,water: many rich countries can donate food/medicines and this can help them have more energy to work and stay healthy.

- 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.
- 805 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat.
- More than 750 million people lack adequate access to clean drinking water.and this kills more than 850,000 people every year
- In 2011, 165 million children under the age 5 were died
- 1.6 billion people live without electricity.
