The content of the book is scarier than its name. This book is about a photographer named Horace who meets Mr. and Mrs. Von Macht . Their daughter Eleanora died of a fever, but Horace discovers things about Eleanora’s death. There is a black girl Pegg , who is the servant of Von Macht family . She helps Horace in many different ways.

The story talks about four pictures of Eleanora that Horace needs to find. But he did not take those pictures; he must find them to prove that he did not take them. If he will not find them they will arrest him. The pictures were taken before Eleanora’s dead. Furthermore, Pegg helps Horace to find the pictures but they find only three. Eleanora is wearing light colors in the photos: white, light pink or light yellow. But they did not find those photos as easy as I mentioned above, it was extremely hard to find them. When they were looking for the photos they discovered a lot of things about Eleanora and her family. They discovered that Eleanora is not Mr. and Mrs. Von Macht’s daughter. She is Mrs. Von Macht’s niece. Her mother died when she was a baby girl, thus they decided to adopt her and be her parents.

In these months Horace and Pegg become good friends and they tell each other a lot of secrets. One day Pegg decides to talk about her relationship with Eleanora. She tells Horace that they were like sisters. They loved each other a lot and that Eleanora used to say that they were real sisters. Then Pegg told him the truth about Eleanora death, which was definitely not the fever, she was killed by someone.

After searching a lot they find the forth photo. However, something was not okay with that photo, where Pegg was standing in a big hall and there was something strange behind her. It was Eleanora’s ghost and she was wearing a black dress. Moreover, Horce begins to live in Von Macht house.

One day they see her ghost again in that hall. Horace and Pegg get really scared. They think about going to the police to report ELeanora’s death case and find the murderer. There was a man named Mr. Middleditch.  He helped them to find the killer. They searched for years, and after a long time they discovered that the ghost of her real parents killed her, because they wanted her to be with them. So this is the main reason why the book is entitled “THE SEER OF SHADOWS.”

I think this book was great, but it was very irrational and imaginary. The way the author wrote the scariest part of it was great; I really liked the suspense in there which hooked me to continue reading the book till the end. He described every scary moment and I felt that it is happening with me – now.  I think I wouldn’t change anything in the book; I like it the way it is.
